Endolift® London: laser skin tightening, guided by ultrasound

A minimally invasive laser treatment that tightens lax skin and, only where it is planned, reduces small pockets of fat — with no incisions, stitches or general anaesthetic. At NEU Clinic every case is mapped with ultrasound and performed by one of two doctors with more than 1,500 Endolift procedures between them.

Consultations are free and with a doctor. No obligation to go ahead.

The NEU® difference

Not all Endolift® is the same.

The device can be identical from clinic to clinic. What differs is who is holding the fibre, what they can see while they work, and how carefully the case was planned.

01

Ultrasound-guided, every case

We scan before and during treatment to see the fat layer, the fibrous network, the dermis — and the structures we must avoid. Many clinics perform Endolift by feel alone.

The genuine device, registered doctors

The Eufoton LASEmaR® 1500 — the laser Endolift was developed and validated on — with sealed, serial-numbered fibres. Both doctors are on the official Endolift® practitioner register.

How it works

What Endolift® does beneath the skin

1

A hair-thin fibre, no incision

A 300-micron optical fibre passes through a needle-sized entry point into the layer just beneath the skin. There are no cuts and no stitches; the entry points are covered with a small dressing afterwards.

2

Controlled laser heat, from the inside

A 1470 nm laser at the fibre tip warms the tissue to a controlled temperature. The fibrous network contracts immediately, and a six-month cascade of new collagen and elastin begins.

3

Tightening first; fat reduction only where planned

For most patients the whole treatment is tightening. Where there is genuine excess — under the chin, along the jowls — the settings change to reduce that pocket, and never across the cheeks or mid-face.

Watch: Endolift explained by Dr Kaliya. Illustrative animation — not a patient result.

Two effects, one fibre

Tightening — the default

Lower energy warms the tissue so the fibrous network contracts and new collagen forms. No fat is removed.

Fat reduction — only where planned

Higher energy, in agreed areas only, liquefies a small pocket of fat which the body clears over the following weeks.

Before we start: the pre-treatment ultrasound. Every layer is measured before treatment starts, and checked again as we work.

Ultrasound-guided, every case

What we look at before a single joule is delivered

Most of what Endolift treats cannot be seen from the surface. Before every treatment — and during it — we scan the area so we know exactly what is under the fibre.

  • Subcutaneous fat — is there enough to reduce, and where exactly?
  • Fibrous septal network — the strands the laser contracts to tighten
  • Dermis — where collagen and elastin are stimulated
  • What we avoid — the marginal mandibular nerve along the jaw and the thin tissue over the zygomatic arch, both marked as no-go zones

Honest limits

Endolift works above the platysma muscle. If your neck laxity comes from deeper structures — the platysma itself, deep fat pads or the submandibular glands — that is surgical territory, and we will tell you so rather than treat what will not work.

Treatment areas

Where Endolift® is used

Most often where skin laxity and a little localised fat are affecting contour together. Your doctor confirms suitability for your anatomy at consultation.

Body · liposuction can be added to most areas

Suitability

Is Endolift® right for you?

It is a powerful tool with clear limits. The consultation exists to tell you which side of that line you are on — including when a different treatment, or surgery, would serve you better.

A good fit if…

  • You have mild to moderate skin laxity on the face, neck or body
  • Early jowling, or a softer jawline than you would like
  • Under-chin or jawline fullness that has not responded to diet or exercise
  • You want a noticeable but natural change, without surgery
  • You are not ready for — or do not want — a facelift or neck lift
  • Any skin type: Endolift works beneath the surface, so pigmentation risk is low

Better served elsewhere if…

  • Significant skin excess or advanced laxity — a surgical lift will do more
  • Neck laxity coming from below the platysma: deep fat, glands or muscle
  • You are pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Active infection or open wounds in the treatment area
  • Certain autoimmune conditions or some blood-thinning medication — assessed case by case
  • You are expecting a facelift result from a non-surgical treatment

“Will Endolift make my face look gaunt?”

It should not — and we plan specifically to avoid it. For most patients the treatment is tightening only. Where fat reduction is used, it is confined to agreed areas of true excess such as under the chin or along the jowls, never across the cheeks or mid-face where volume loss would age the face. If facial volume is a worry, say so at consultation and your plan is built around it.

Your treatment journey

From first conversation to final result

Six steps, no pressure at any of them.

1

Consultation

Free, unhurried, with the doctor who would treat you. We assess your laxity, fat and skin — and say plainly if Endolift is not the answer.

2

Time to reflect

Take your plan away. Ask anything on WhatsApp. Book when you are ready — there is no same-day pressure.

3

Ultrasound mapping

On the day we scan and mark the area: fat depth, the fibrous network, and the no-go zones we treat around.

4

Local anaesthetic

1% lidocaine through two small entry points per side. A few seconds of stinging, then very little is felt.

5

Laser treatment

90–120 minutes, awake. The fibre delivers controlled heat along planned vectors. Entry points are dressed afterwards.

6

Recovery & review

Desk work the next day; swelling settles over 5–7 days. We review at two weeks, and results build to 3–6 months.

Results

What to expect, and when

Endolift is a biological treatment as much as a physical one: some change is immediate, most of it arrives as your own collagen remodels.

Day 0

Immediate skin contraction. Swelling begins; entry points dressed.

Days 5–7

Swelling and tenderness settle. Desk work from the day after treatment.

2 weeks

Review with your doctor. Early tightening is usually visible.

3 months

Most of the change has arrived as collagen remodels.

6 months

Final result. Refine with filler or biostimulators if planned.

2–4 years

Typical longevity. A further session is possible from 12 months.

Compared

Endolift® next to the alternatives

An honest comparison. Surgery remains the gold standard for advanced laxity; Endolift is for the stage before that.

Endolift®

  • How it works: laser fibre beneath the skin (subdermal)
  • Skin tightening: strong
  • Reduces localised fat: yes, where planned
  • Anaesthetic: local
  • Incisions: none — needle-sized entry points
  • Downtime: swelling for 5–7 days
  • Typical longevity: 2–4 years
  • Best for: mild–moderate laxity, with or without small fat pockets

HIFU / Ultherapy

  • How it works: focused ultrasound through the skin
  • Skin tightening: mild to moderate
  • Reduces localised fat: no
  • Anaesthetic: none or topical
  • Incisions: none
  • Downtime: little or none
  • Typical longevity: 12–18 months
  • Best for: mild laxity, no fat concern

Thread lift

  • How it works: dissolvable threads pull tissue
  • Skin tightening: moderate, mechanical
  • Reduces localised fat: no
  • Anaesthetic: local
  • Incisions: small entry points
  • Downtime: about 1–2 weeks
  • Typical longevity: 12–18 months
  • Best for: mild laxity wanting a mechanical lift

Surgical facelift

  • How it works: tissue repositioned, excess skin removed
  • Skin tightening: strongest
  • Reduces localised fat: only with liposuction
  • Anaesthetic: general
  • Incisions: yes, with stitches
  • Downtime: several weeks
  • Typical longevity: 5–10 years
  • Best for: significant skin excess or advanced laxity

General comparison for information only; individual devices, techniques and outcomes vary. For heavier under-chin fat, Endolift can be combined with micro-liposuction in the same session so the melted fat is removed rather than cleared by the body over several weeks.

Your questions

Endolift® FAQs

Something we have not covered? Ask us on WhatsApp — a doctor will answer.

Does Endolift hurt?

The area is numbed with local anaesthetic first. The numbing injections are the most uncomfortable part and take a few seconds per side; after that most patients feel warmth and pressure rather than pain. You are awake throughout and no sedation is needed.

What downtime should I expect?

Expect swelling, tenderness and some bruising for 5–7 days, settling fully by 10–14 days. Most people are back at a desk the next day. If you have an event, allow 7–10 days. Avoid strenuous exercise for one week.

When will I see results?

Some tightening is visible on the day. The picture becomes clearer as swelling settles at around two weeks, and the result keeps building as new collagen forms, with the final result at 3–6 months.

How long does Endolift last?

Typically two to four years, depending on the area treated, your skin, sun exposure, smoking and weight changes. A further session can be performed from around 12 months if you would like to build on the result.

How many sessions will I need?

Usually one. Occasionally we suggest a second session at your review to refine a specific area.

Will it make my face look gaunt?

It should not. For most patients the treatment is tightening only; where fat reduction is used, it is confined to agreed areas of true excess such as under the chin or along the jowls, never across the cheeks or mid-face.

Is it safe? What are the risks?

Endolift is a CE-marked treatment with a good safety record in trained hands. Expected effects are swelling, redness, tenderness and bruising for around a week. Less commonly, temporary numbness or altered sensation can last a few weeks. Rarely, contour irregularity or prolonged swelling can occur. Treatment by an experienced, registered practitioner using the genuine device — and, at NEU, ultrasound guidance — keeps these risks low. We go through them in full at consultation.

Is Endolift suitable for darker skin?

Yes. Because it works beneath the skin rather than through its surface, the risk of pigmentation change is low, and it is suitable for all Fitzpatrick skin types.

Endolift or fat-dissolving injections for a double chin?

For a genuine pocket of under-chin fat, Endolift reduces the fat and tightens the skin in a single session. Fat-dissolving injections typically need several sessions, do not tighten the skin and can leave loose skin behind. For heavier fat we can combine Endolift with micro-liposuction.

Can I combine Endolift with fillers or biostimulators?

Yes, and sequence matters. We tighten first, then refine with smaller volumes of filler from around three months if needed. Biostimulators can follow from around six months to build on the result.

How do I know a treatment is genuine Endolift?

Ask which laser is used — it should be the Eufoton LASEmaR 1500 — check that the fibre comes sealed with a serial number, and look your practitioner up on the official Endolift practitioner register. Both of our doctors are listed.

Start with an honest conversation.

A free consultation with the doctor who would treat you — including a straight answer on whether Endolift is the right choice for you at all.
