This is a great example of what Endolift can achieve with minimal downtime, using a very fine laser fibre placed just beneath the skin.
Endolift works by gently heating the deeper tissues. This helps to tighten loose skin, stimulate new collagen production, and improve definition in areas such as the jawline, lower face, and neck — all without traditional surgery.

Endolift® is a CE‑marked, clinically validated laser treatment that addresses the signs of facial and body ageing from within. Rather than treating the surface, it targets the deeper structural layers — the subdermal tissue, the collagen network and localised fat — where laxity and loss of contour actually begin.
A 300‑micron optical fibre is introduced beneath the skin through a tiny entry point, with no incision. The energy it delivers has two effects, and the balance between them is set entirely for you.
01 — What Endolift® does beneath the skin
Lower energy warms the tissue so the fibrous network contracts now and new collagen forms over months. No fat is removed. For most patients — cheeks, mid‑face, general laxity — this is the whole treatment.
Higher energy, in agreed areas only — heaviness under the chin, jowling, buccal fullness — liquefies a small pocket of fat which the body clears over the following weeks. Never applied across the cheeks or mid‑face.
Unlike a facelift there is no general anaesthetic, no incisions and no stitches; unlike injectables it treats the structural cause rather than masking it. Results keep improving for up to six months.

It is a powerful tool with clear limits. The consultation exists to tell you which side of that line you are on — including when a different treatment, or surgery, would serve you better.

It should not — and we plan specifically to avoid it. For most patients the treatment is tightening only. Where fat reduction is used, it is confined to agreed areas of true excess such as under the chin or along the jowls — never across the cheeks or mid‑face, where volume loss would age the face. If facial volume is a worry, say so at consultation and your plan is built around it.

vs. HIFU / Ultherapy. HIFU's energy must pass through the skin from outside, so some of it is dispersed before reaching depth and the tightening is subtler. Endolift® places the fibre directly beneath the skin, produces a noticeably stronger lift along the jawline, addresses fat as well as laxity, and can be combined with micro‑liposuction in the same session.

What exactly is Endolift®?
Endolift® is a minimally invasive laser treatment that uses a hair-thin optical fibre inserted beneath the skin to deliver controlled laser energy to the deeper tissue layers. It stimulates collagen production and, only where planned, melts localised fat deposits — resulting in a firmer, more lifted and better-defined appearance, without surgery, incisions or general anaesthetic.
What is Endolift® best used for?
Endolift® is particularly effective for treating mild to moderate skin laxity and improving contour in areas such as the jawline, chin, neck and lower face. It can also be used on selected body areas where skin looseness or small pockets of localised fat affect definition.
Is Endolift® the same as a facelift?
No. A surgical facelift physically removes excess skin and repositions the underlying facial tissues under general anaesthetic. Endolift® works within the skin using laser energy and does not involve cutting or stitches. It is best suited to patients with mild to moderate laxity who want meaningful improvement without surgery. For patients with advanced skin excess, surgery may still be necessary — your doctor will advise honestly at consultation.
How does Endolift® tighten the skin?
The laser energy delivered beneath the skin causes an immediate thermal contraction of the tissue fibres, followed by a longer-term collagen remodelling response. This stimulates the body to produce new, stronger collagen over the months following treatment, progressively tightening and firming the skin from within.
Does Endolift® reduce fat?
It can, but only where appropriate — fat reduction is not an automatic or default part of every Endolift® treatment. For the majority of patients, the primary effect is skin tightening, with little to no fat removal involved.
Where a patient has a genuine excess of localised fat — for example, heaviness under the chin or along the jawline — the laser can selectively target and melt that specific deposit, which the body then gradually clears through the lymphatic system over the following weeks. This decision is made individually at consultation, never applied broadly across the face. For more significant fat under the chin, we also offer Endolift® combined with micro-liposuction, which physically removes the melted fat in the same session.
Will Endolift® make my face look gaunt or hollow?
This is a common and understandable concern, and one we address carefully with every patient. Endolift® is not designed to strip fat from the face indiscriminately — in the majority of cases, treatment is focused almost entirely on tightening the skin, with no significant fat reduction at all.
Where fat melting is used, it is applied only to specific, clearly identified areas of genuine excess — such as heaviness under the chin or jowling — and never broadly across the cheeks or mid-face, where volume loss could age the face. Your doctor will assess your facial volume at consultation and design a plan that enhances your natural contours rather than hollowing them out.
How many treatments are needed?
For most patients, a single Endolift® session is sufficient to achieve the desired result. The treatment is designed to produce comprehensive, lasting improvement in one procedure. In some cases, a follow-up session may be recommended to refine results, which your doctor will discuss at your post-treatment review.
Does the treatment hurt?
The area is numbed with 1% lidocaine through two small entry points per side — a few seconds of stinging, then very little is felt. During treatment most patients notice warmth and pressure rather than pain, and you are awake and able to talk throughout. Any tenderness afterwards is usually manageable with simple over-the-counter pain relief.
What downtime should I expect?
Downtime is generally minimal. Most patients experience some swelling, redness and mild bruising for around five to seven days, and most return to desk-based work the following day. The majority of visible swelling resolves within ten to fourteen days, after which results become progressively more apparent. We advise avoiding strenuous exercise for one week.
When will I see results?
An improvement in contour is often visible immediately following the procedure. As swelling settles over the first two weeks, results become clearer. Collagen remodelling then continues for up to six months, during which the skin progressively tightens and the overall result refines further.
How long do the results last?
Results typically last two to four years. The longevity depends on the area treated, the individual’s natural ageing process, skin quality and lifestyle factors such as sun exposure, smoking and weight fluctuation. Maintenance treatment is possible and can help sustain results over the longer term.
Is Endolift® safe?
Yes. Endolift® is a CE-marked treatment with a strong clinical safety profile when performed by trained and registered practitioners. What are the possible side effects?
Common and expected side effects include swelling, redness and tenderness in the treated area, which typically resolve within five to seven days and rarely stop you returning to day-to-day life the following day. Temporary numbness or altered sensation may occur and usually resolves within a few weeks. Rare complications can include irregularities in contour, prolonged swelling or changes in skin sensation, and are best minimised by ensuring your treatment is performed by an experienced, registered practitioner.
Can Endolift® be combined with other treatments?
Yes. Endolift® is often combined with dermal fillers to provide structural support to the face, and with biostimulators to further enhance skin tightening and lifting. Combination treatments may be recommended as part of a personalised plan. Who is not suitable for Endolift®?

A thorough medical history is taken at consultation to assess your suitability.
Is Endolift® suitable for all skin types?
Yes. Because Endolift® works beneath the surface of the skin rather than on it, it is suitable across all Fitzpatrick skin types without the risk of pigmentation changes that can affect some surface laser treatments.
